Ensure that the bits, brow band, and cheek pieces are of high quality and suitable for your horse's mouth and head shape.

Fitting the Snaffle Bit: The snaffle bit, located in the upper portion of the double bridle, acts on the corners of the horse's mouth and aids in lateral flexion. Adjust the cheek pieces so that the snaffle bit sits comfortably in the horse's mouth with 1-2 wrinkle(s) at the corners. Avoid tightening the cheek pieces excessively, as this can create unnecessary pressure on the horse's poll and put pressure on the pre-molars.

Fitting the Curb Bit: The curb bit, positioned in the lower portion of the double bridle, works on the horse's chin groove and aids in vertical flexion with an elevated poll. Attach the curb bit to the lower set of cheekpieces on the bridle. Adjust the curb chain or curb strap so that it rests flatly on the lower jaw and hangs between the curb and snaffle bits.

Brow band and Cheek piece Adjustments: Ensure that the brow band is wide enough to fit comfortably behind the horse's ears without pressing on them. It should provide sufficient space for the bridle and bits to rest without causing discomfort. Adjust the cheek pieces so that the bridle sits snugly, yet comfortably, on the horse's head without exerting excessive pressure on the sensitive facial structures.

Final Adjustments and Testing: Once all the individual components are properly fitted, assess the overall balance and comfort of the bridle on the horse's head. Check the cheek pieces, noseband, brow band, and throat latch for appropriate adjustments, allowing freedom of movement while maintaining control. Perform various exercises and movements to ensure that the bridle is comfortable and doesn't impede the horse's performance.
